LBC: Most Worn Dress VS Least Worn

Whooooooaaaaa, I haven't been here in forever; I can't apologize enough!

My September was insanely busy, and it basically took me a month to recover from going on my first international trip. I apologize for the unannounced hiatus on this blog, X_X

But, I'm back now! YAY!

To get back in the swing of things, I decided to participate in this week's prompt from the Lolita Blog Carnival. It took me a little while to figure out my most worn main piece and my least worn main piece because I try my best to cycle through my wardrobe.

If I haven't worn something in a while, I usually think, "Ok, time to coord this dress that I've only worn once this year!" However, if I find that I'm continuously not wearing the same piece or avoiding an item for some reason, at that point, I strongly contemplate selling it. I'm not a fan of owning items that I'll never wear because I feel like that defeats the purpose of having a wardrobe but I digress -- let's move on to the pieces.

Most Worn Piece - Moon of Eternal Day OP

Grove Deer, Moon of Eternal Day stock photo, I do no own!
Honestly, this was a battle between three pieces because I wear my Star Night Theater JSK and Ol' Faithful (which dress is Ol' Faithful?? Find out here) a lot.

However, after taking a look at my coord albums over the last two years, I realized I've worn this OP more than any other piece in my closet, especially when compared to items that I've owned for a longer amount of time. Since this dress also offers more coord versatility, I can say with confidence that I'm more likely to reach for this OP than the other two candidates for the title.

Here are a few of the coords I've put together with this OP since I bought it.

Coord from San Japan.

Twinning meet coord.

Coord from a book club meet-up.
The Moon of Eternal Day OP comes in other colors, and I reeeeeaaaalllllllyyyy want it in gray and/or navy. It's just a simple, lovely OP that fits wonderfully and is super easy to coord.

Least Worn - Butterfly Cemetery (AKA skirts)

Stock photo, I do not own!
I was sad to discover that this is my least worn piece, but I can't hide from the truth, :/

I have such a hard time with blouses, and as a result, I struggle even more with wearing skirts. It's a struggle to find Lolita blouses and skirts that flatter my figure, so I just find it's easier to avoid wearing skirts altogether. I'm hoping that I can overcome this issue sometime soon, but I doubt that'll happen before the year ends.

Another problem I have while wearing Butterfly Cemetery is simply coming up with coords for it. My very first coord with this skirt set a high standard, and as such, I feel like every attempt I've made after that very first one falls below my own expectations. I can't help but feel disappointed with myself.

Butterfly Cemetery coord.
Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not a fan of owning pieces that I can't/don't wear, but I honestly can't bring myself to sell my skirt either. Of course, the obvious and easy solution to my problem is to buy "real" blouses, as opposed to cropped ones that are trendy right now, but we'll see how that goes.

Tell me, dear readers, do you have a main piece that you wear more than your other pieces? Have your least worn items gotten any love lately? Let's discuss it in the comments section!

I'm waiting on some shipments to arrive, so I promise I'll be back soon with more content! In the meantime, if you'd like to check out other Lolita blogs that participated in this week's prompt, simply click on the links to take a look:

  1. Definitely can relate to coord ideas falling below your own expectations. I often have that and while it's great when your first outfit with a piece is amazing, it sucks to peak prematurely. Fingers crossed you'll find some ways to wear the skirt in a way that you'll be happy with!

Yeah, blouse woes are the worst, T_T

  3. Solid ops are the best! I like the butterfly cemetry, but as you say it is not an easy to cordinate piece and therefore I don't have it.

    1. Aren't they? I seriously need to invest in more because they're just so easy to coord.

I love Butterfly Cemetery, but I feel like it just requires so much more effort than my other pieces, X_X

  4. I love the coords you made from the Moon of Eternal Day OP! I'm always a little scared to wear chiffon out because of how delicate it is, but you've showed me how versatile it really is, and that's amazing. Do you take special care of it when washing or storing it?

About the butterfly skirt - as a blouse hoarder, I would still recommend a good collection of outerwear to go with it. Boleros and scarves, even belts, will do a good deal to make an ordinary blouse more interesting and figure-flattering. It's a beautiful print, and I hope you can make another coordinate with it soon.

    1. I don't do anything special to it! I just wash it on delicate cycle and air dry it, like I do most of my dresses, XP
